In recent years a pilgrimage tradition has established as a means of further exploring our faith.

Rather than relying on packages, bespoke tours have been created to visit the Holy Land, meeting members of other faiths and seeing the sights. Staying on the Via Dolorosa during the Easter left a deep impression of our world wide faith. Following this we enjoyed a week on Iona, a “seaside isle which provides blessing for those who linger there”.

We travelled to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne in 2021, and St Davids earlier this year, where we immersed ourselves in these other important centres of Christianity in these isles.

Following a request from one of our pilgrims we planned to return the Holy Land in October 2023.  Places were filled, accommodation and guide booked, and flights arranged.  However, a decision was made to cancel in view of a number of incidents involving tourists; the temple mount being taken over by Israel security personnel, and unrest in Jerusalem by Israeli citizens objecting to changes in Government policy.

All being well, we hope to arrange a very special pilgrimage to Ireland in 2024 to see many of the Christian sites, and pay homage to the many Irish evangelists who brought our faith to these shores and Europe. Volunteers to help with organisation would be appreciated.  Contact Rob Stone on 01242 602384.
