Events this year

We’ve some splendid activities planned for this spring and summer. Fuller details will be given in the magazine nearer the time, but meanwhile, here are brief details of some of them:

May 13 We’re meeting at The Mount in Stanton at 7.30 pm for a brief Ascension Day walk, some worship on the hillside and a drink afterwards.
May 22 'Holy Walking' lecture - 6.00pm at St Peter's
May 30 Churches Together barbeque - 12 noon at St Nicholas'
Jun 13 The Friends of St Peter’s are again organizing their hugely popular Open Gardens event.
Jun 27 Julia Hook’s ordination as our new part-time curate is followed by an evening Garden Party at the Rectory.
Jul 2 Come and bring all the family, to our annual Garden Evening, shared with the Methodist Church – stalls, games and refreshments.
Jul 4 The Hailes Pilgrimage week culminates in an open-air Communion at Hailes Abbey, followed by a picnic. 10.30am at Hailes Abbey
Jul 9 Our singers and musicians showcase their talents in 'Fruit Salad', our annual Choir Concert in St Peter’s at 7pm.
Jul 17 2.30pm: we celebrate St Kenelm’s Day with two events – worship at the well is followed by a newly written Mystery Play; and in the evening we’ve a Summer Celebration (stalls, donkey rides, barbecue) on the banks of the Isbourne.
5.00pm: Summer celebration at Hayrick Orchard
Aug 1 Summer booksale begins - 12 noon at St Peter's
Aug 27 Greenbelt Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse
Aug 30 Winchcombe Country Show
Oct 3 St Peter's Harvest Festival and lunch
Oct 29 Friends of St Peter's Autumn Lecture
Dec 14 Late evening shopping
Dec 19 Christmas Carol Service - 6.30pm at St Peter's
